It’s simple to create and will make your stairs look festive and inviting.

Plus, it’s a great way to use up any extra ribbon or artificial greenery you may have lying around.

Here’s how to get started.

Today, I am going to show you How to Create A Beautiful Blue And White Christmas Stairway Garland.

Come on, I’ll show you.

Who doesn’t love a staircase beautifully decorated for Christmas?

I am joining a great group of ladies for The Celebrate The Holidays Christmas Blog Hop.

Christmas is coming, and that means it’s time to get your home ready for the holidays!

One easy way to add some festive spirit is by creating a beautiful blue and white stairway garland.

It’s a quick and easy project that anyone can do, and it will really brighten up your home.

Plus, it’s sure to impress your guests! So read on for instructions on how to make one yourself.

I absolutely love to decorate my staircase for the holidays.

There is just something about a beautiful garland draped down the banister.

Blue is my favorite color, yet this is the very first year that I have decorated with blue for Christmas.

When you add blue and gingham in the same sentence, you know that is going to be stunning.

I started with a garland with greenery, pinecones and twinkle lights all woven together.
You can easily attach multiple garlands by twisting the wire ends together and plugging in the electrical wires.

I started at the top of the stairs at the first stair post.

I attached the “plug in” end of the garland to the post with a plastic tie similar to a zip tie (these ties are reusable and last for years), zip ties will work as well.

After the garland had been packed in a storage bucket for a year, I fluffed the garland a bit to make it look more natural.

Deck the stairs with boughs of holly!

Garland your stairway for a stunning blue and white Christmas display.

It’s easy to do, and all you need is some garland, berries, and ornaments.

Follow these simple steps to create a beautiful holiday decoration that will amaze your friends and family.

Happy holidays!

Next, I added a thinner pine garland.

I tucked the thinner pine garland into the first garland.

A snowy pine cone pick.

Now that you know how to garland your stairs for Christmas, it’s time to get started on your own holiday decorating!

Then I added in the snowy pinecone picks, to add a bit of white and whimsy. Get snowy pine picks here. (These picks aren’t identical to the picks that I used but they would look great for this project.)

To finish it off, I added a gingham bow at each swag.

To make the bow, I used a 2″ wired ginghan ribbon , fabric scissors, floral wire and wire cutters. Don’t know how to make a bow? See a “how to” video here.

At the newell post, the larger post at the bottom of the stairs, I added more of the snowy picks and a larger bow for more impact. And now, my poor husband gets to enjoy a beautifully decorated Blue and White Christmas garland for months to come.

That’s it!

Now you know how to garland your stairway for a beautiful blue and white Christmas display.

I hope you found these tips helpful, and I wish you all a very happy holiday season.

Renae, you have the perfect staircase to decorate for any occasion. Like you, I love blue and white, but have never used it for much Christmas decorating. I love that gingham ribbon and the bows. Thank you for joining the Celebrate the Holiday hop.
