Starting with the Christmas Tree
I love this Brass and French Blue Christmas Tree.
I put the Christmas tree in corner of the living room, next to the fireplace-it’s the perfect spot.
I love seeing the twinkling lights of the tree and a roaring fire in the fireplace.
It is so magical.
The first thing that I did was to decorate this beautiful Christmas tree was to add white lights, brass leaf Christmas garlands and for the topper-I added festive seasonal picks and a large blue satin bow to the top of the tree.
Then I start with the largest ornaments and work down to the tiniest Christmas ornaments.
I love sticking in faux or fresh greenery into the branches to fill any bare spots and to add even more interest to the tree.
You can find a large selection of floral picks at Hobby Lobby or your local craft store.
Next, I add the sweetest French blue satin ribbons to the ends of the branches, it adds a little bit of softness.
Tree skirts are the finishing touch to a beautiful tree. Isn’t it beautiful? See how I repurposed these beautiful ornaments.
What Do I Need For a Beautiful French Blue Christmas?
French blue is my favorite color.
So I decided to decorate with French blue and brass accents.
It turned out stunning, and the rustic elegance is perfect for the holiday season. The cottage is decorated with a festive tree, cozy tablescape, and mantel decor.
The blue and white gift wrapping is so pretty at the bottom of the tree.
Here are some tips for decorating your tree:
- Use a real or artificial tree. Or even a flocked tree.
- Shop your Christmas decorating stash and use what you have in a new way.
- Shop flea markets and antique malls for all things Christmas and antique items. You can find amazing things.
- Candles and twinkle lights are a must.
- Use natural elements for a simple garland or a simple wreath.
- I love adding a nativity scene ornaments on my trees.
- Add a beaded garland, vintage pieces, pine cones, blue hydrangeas from your garden or

How Do I Create a Beautiful Blue and White Christmas Tablescape?
In the dining area of my french country cottage, I decorated the table in blue and white for the Christmas Season, and it has a rustic and elegant feel.
I’m a sucker for buffalo check-the blue and white buffalo check napkins look great with a silver napkin ring and a fresh pine sprig for Christmas time.
Isn’t this simple floral arrangement perfect with the twinkle of candle light?
My favorite thing is to walk the farm and gather fresh greens and pinecones.
They make an elegant centerpiece that is free, yet it looks elegant and adds that French country charm.
- Start with a table runner and other table linens for your dining room table as a base for your table settings.
- Create a festive centerpiece for the center of the table and build your Christmas table setting around it for a festive table. Use Christmas ornaments, fresh greens, white candles or bottle brush trees as part of your beautiful centerpiece.
- Use buffalo check napkins and ribbons to create a festive atmosphere.
- Add greenery, pine cones, berries and other natural elements to bring the outdoors in.
- Use candles to create a warm and inviting glow.
- Set your table with festive dishes, glasses and a few of your favorite things for your festive Christmas tablescape.
- Add a personal touch with handmade decorations or family heirlooms.
For the tablescape, you will need:
white table runner, white dinner plates, white lattice salad plates, water glasses, silverware, blue buffalo check cloth napkins, silver napkin rings, brass serving tray, pine greenery, frosted evergreen picks, berry picks, silver candle holders, flameless candles, pinecones.
Keep It Simple
A holiday tablescape doesn’t have to be elaborate. Use what you have. These dinner and salad plates are my everyday dishes, as are the buffalo check napkins. By tucking in the fresh greenery, it becomes festive with one simple addition.

A Simple Holiday Mantel
I love decorating a fireplace mantel for Christmas.
Don’t have a mantel? Why not use these simple ideas to decorate a sideboard, console table or coffee table.
I used a 2 noble fir garlands and two eucalyptus garlands.
I wanted my garland to trail down one side.
I ticked in two mercury glass hurricanes with candles in them.
Then I tied a French blue ribbon to them to continue the look and feel to every part of the cottage.
I added a lantern to the fireplace hearth.
I added another blue ribbon to the top and tucked in some brass accents.
Inside, I used my vintage brass candle holders with some flameless candles.
It’s super simple, but elegant at the same time.
These are items that I use in the cottage all year long, with a ribbon and embellishments they become instant Christmas decor.

Beautiful Blue and White Gift Wrapping
I continued the French blue theme all the way to the gift wrapping. Here are
Looking for a unique way to wrap your Christmas presents this year? Well, you have definitely come to the right spot. I am using kraft paper instead of the traditional Christmas gift wrapping this year. I love the idea for several reasons.
- You can easily personalize each gift, making them stand out.
- Kraft paper comes in many colors and sizes, so your options are endless.
- It’s super affordable! Yay, this is the best reason for using Kraft paper.
- It’s not specific for the holidays, you can use it for gift giving for any occasion-birthdays, baby showers…
- You can use it for crafting as well as for wrapping.
Who wouldn’t want a gift wrapped like this?
I sure would. I wrapped this gift in natural Kraft paper.
Isn’t this so fun and easy?
