Beauty in the Storm

Hey Friends! I am so glad that you are here. As with so many of you, we were hit with an historic winter storm this past weekend. What made our storm so interesting is that it dumped more that two inches of ice and layers of snow in between more layers of ice. Thus creating tough driving conditions, as well as causing a tremendous amount of damage in our area. In late September, our community had terrible wild fires that also caused a tremendous amount of damage, and many families lost their homes, barns and all of their belongings. So, I am going to show you some of the beauty of the ice storm and not dwell on the damge from the storm.

The ice covered pine cones were just too pretty not to capture.

The ice covered branches were so beautiful!

There was so much ice on our trees, that the limbs were actually laying on the ground. We spent a couple of hours shaking the limbs with all our might trying to get off as much ice as we could before the branches broke.

This is what the ground looked like after we shook the ice off the branches. The ice was two inches thick on the branches.
This window box is just so pretty.
I couldn’t believe how much ice had incapsulated this leaf.

I hope that your storms have passed and that you are warm and safe. I hope that you enjoyed seeing the beauty of the ice.

Hugs and blessings to you,

Renae

Oh, that is beautiful. We have about five inches of snow , and some ice, but nothing as beautiful as yours. Hugs and blessings back to you from Tennessee. Praying for all of those less fortunate for their safety and warmth.

Gorgeous photos Renae! I love you guys shaking the branches! We lost a couple branches from our old trees, but it sure was beautiful in the meantime. Thanks for the reminders of beauty in everything!

Shaking the branches was incredibly hard work, but we were able to save many trees. Blessings to you.

Beautiful interiors don’t have to come with an outrageous price tag. My style is what I like to call Vintage French Farmhouse, I love mixing decorating styles, especially opposites like the glitz of a chandelier dripping in crystals with a chair upholstered in worn aged leather. Refined, yet not too formal-but, livable, elegant traditional design, adding warmth and vintage elements.
