Here are some tips on how to create an English Country Christmas:

Start with a clean slate. Before you start decorating, take some time to declutter your home and give it a good cleaning. This will help to create a fresh and inviting atmosphere.

Use natural materials. Natural materials like clippings from fir trees, pinecones and pine needles, leftover sticks from a birch tree and fresh greenery are essential for creating an English Country Christmas look this festive season. Use them in your decorations, in your living room, on your coffee table and your dining room table.

Add some tartan plaid. Tartan plaid is a classic English pattern that is perfect for Christmas. Use it in your tablecloths, napkins, pillows, and throws. Why not use a vintage tartain plaid throw for your tree skirt?

Incorporate festive greenery. Greenery is another important element of an English Country Christmas. Use it in your wreaths, centerpieces, and garlands. They will last outside through the winter season.

Light the way with candles. Candlelight is the perfect way to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Use Christmas candles on your mantelpiece, on your dining table, on your sideboard holiday bar and throughout your home. Use electric candles, flameless candles or real candles.  What about using a lit candle in a glass hurricane?

Add some personal touches. There are so many easy ways to personalize your decorations at Christmas time, homemade ornaments, a favorite decoration, nativity scene, and other sentimental items.

Enjoy the season! The most important thing is to relax and enjoy this time of year. Light candles, spend time with your loved ones, make some new Christmas traditions, and create a Christmas that you will never forget.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Add a touch of tradition by decorating your home with tartan plaid, cozy throws, and cushions. Add a plaid ribbon to homemade garlands or festive wreaths.
  • Decorate your Christmas mantel with flickering candlelight, fresh foliage, and a Christmas stocking for each member of the family.
  • Create a rustic holiday bar using natural accents and traditional colors.
  • Trim your Christmas tree, whether it’s a real Christmas tree or artificial, with vintage decorations, small ornaments and large ornaments.
  • Make your own crafty decorations, such as nature-inspired Christmas ornaments.
