Choosing Your Vase

To begin your Easter flower arrangement, start by selecting a vase that fits your desired aesthetic.

It doesn’t have to be a big vase, but tall enough for the carrots to stand up.

Clear glass vases work well to showcase the vibrant colors of the carrots, even a small mason jar would work for a small flower arrangement.

Add a bit of chicken wire squished in a ball shape and add it to the center of the vase.

This is what will hold the cut tulips and carrots in place.

Setting The Carrots

Now, let’s move on to the carrots.

You may be wondering why carrots are a key component of this Easter flower arrangement.

Well, besides being a healthy and delicious snack, carrots symbolize growth and new life – two themes that align perfectly with the spirit of Easter.

Plus, their unique shape adds an element of whimsy and playfulness to the arrangement for a casual look that even Peter Rabbit would love.

Be sure to choose fresh carrots with long green stems for the best effect. I couldn’t find carrots with their green tops.

Then add whole carrots between the vase (the tops of the carrots should hit the top of the vase)and the chicken wire, all the way around the vase, with top of the carrots pointing up, fill the whole vase.

This creates the base of the arrangement.

Next, fill the vase with a little water.

Then add your grocery store flowers into the chicken wire to create your Easter flower arrangements.

This is a wonderful time of year to find such beautiful flowers.

Now it’s time to arrange your flowers!

Begin by trimming the tulip stems to the desired length and placing them in the vase.

PRO TIP: hang your flowers upside down next to the vase. Then cut the stems at the height that you want them for the finished arrangement. This will save you a lot of time.

Add the tulips, rotating their angles and positions for visual interest.

This delightful Easter bouquet, alongside an Eater bunny, will look beautiful on your kitchen table, Spring tablescape or Easter table centerpiece.

I’m using three different colors of tulips-purple, dark pink and yellow.

Make sure to alternate the colors, as to keep the arrangement balanced.

You don’t want all of the yellows in one area.

You want to create a well mixed bouquet.

Be careful when inserting the tulip stems into the chicken wire.

You don’t want the chicken wire scrunched so tight in a ball that you can get the tulip stems into thw wholes of the chicken wire.

Make sure to stick the stems in gently, as tulip stems break easily.

Easter Flower Arrangement with Tulips and Carrots

Fresh flowers are a must for Spring floral arrangements and you just can’t go wrong with tulips.

These delightful blooms are synonymous with springtime, and their vibrant colors are the perfect addition to any Easter-themed floral arrangement.

With their stunning shape and carefree appearance, tulips embody the spirit of spring and are a joy to behold.

When selecting tulips, look for fresh and healthy stems with vibrant colors to ensure their longevity in your arrangement.

If the tulips have big blooms, don’t get them.

You want to look for tulips that are just budding, not in full bloom.

They won’t last long.

Look for flowers in your color palette- pink, yellow, purple or orange tulips.

If you can’t find tulips or you don’t love them, look for other seasonal flowers-like sweet peas.

Don’t want color-opt for white flowers.

Whole Foods and Trader Joe have great selections of seasonal flowers that would be perfect for your carrot centerpiece.
