Easy Tips and Ideas to Update Your Bathroom On a Budget
Look at this “before” shot.
My bathroom definitely needed an update.
Are you dreaming of giving your bathroom a new and fresh look but worried about the cost?
Fear not, we have got you covered with our easy tips and ideas to update your bathroom on a budget!
As an interior designer, I try to create warm and welcoming spaces without spending a lot of money.
This bathroom is a great example of creating a beautiful room on a budget.
I always like to start with a neutral color scheme, like creamy white wall tile, shower tile and flooring.
Then I like to add interest with bathroom fixtures, shower head and new hardware.
Firstly, let’s start with the basics.
An easy way to start is with a fresh coat of paint on your bathroom walls.
It can work wonders for any space, and the bathroom is no exception.
It’s a simple and affordable way to give your bathroom a new lease on life.
Be sure to choose a color that will complement your fixtures and fittings.
During he bathroom renovation, I added the woodwork and painted it it my favorite color, Alabaster by Sherwin Williams.
It adds a lot of character and charm in such a small space.
Good lighting is a must-have in a bathroom.
I get a lot of natural light in this bathroom with a sky light, which I love, especially beings it doesn’t have a window.
However, having the right light fixtures in the right areas really matters.
Overhead lighting, vanity lighting and lighting in the shower/bathtub area are a must.
Next up, let’s talk about towels.
Replacing your old towels with new hand towels and bath towels, can make a huge difference in the overall look and feel of your bathroom.
Not only will they look better, but they’ll feel better too.
Try opting for neutral tones or patterns to keep things looking modern and timeless.
Why not change out your towel bars and towel racks while you’re at it.
It is a cost-effective way to make a big difference in a small space.

Now, let’s focus on the shower or bath area.
Another simple way for a quick update is swapping out an old shower curtain for a sleek new curtain or pair of curtains.
This is a great way to add a beautiful focal point and add softness to your bathroom.
It is a small change that can instantly elevate the look of your bathroom.
Similarly, updating your bath mat or adding a plush rug can add an element of luxury without spending a lot of money and bring in some coziness to the bathroom floor.
Adding greenery is another great way to freshen up a space.
Not only do plants and flowers improve air quality and promote relaxation, but they also add visual interest and a pop of color to your bathroom.
Consider low-maintenance options like succulents or air plants for a hassle-free solution.
Or better yet, why not add faux greenery.
There are plenty of ways to add more space If your bathroom is lacking storage, invest in some budget-friendly solutions like a new vanity, baskets or shelves.
These will not only make your bathroom more functional but also help declutter your space, but they can add an upscale look without spending a fortune.
Finally, don’t underestimate the power of small accessories like new soap dispensers or toothbrush holders.
These little details can make a big impact and add personality to your space.A few well-placed inexpensive accessories can go a long way in refreshing your space.
Updating your bathroom doesn’t have to mean a complete overhaul and a large price tag.
With just a few simple changes like a fresh coat of paint, new towels, upgraded accessories, and a touch of greenery, you can create a modern and cozy bathroom that you’ll love spending time in.
So go ahead and give your bathroom the refresh it deserves!
