When you bought the lake house, I just knew that French Doors would be perfect in this doorway.
They would add so much charm and character.
One day, while I was looking around the crawl space, I found a set of French Doors.
I couldn’t believe it.
They were in pretty rough shape as they had been in the crawl space for a while.
However, I knew that I could make them look amazing.

There are just so many tiny areas to paint.
You will need a window cleaner, paper towels, a box cutter, painters tape, plastic, painters masking paper roll, press’n seal, paint tray, paint roller, paint brush, paint, and gloves.

How Do I Paint French Doors in No Time?

Do you have French doors in your house that need a fresh coat of paint?
If so, follow these tips and tricks to paint them in no time!
By using the right tools and methods, you’ll be able to give your French doors a new look in no time.

Step 1: The French Doors that I found in the crawl space were a bit too wide to fit well in the doorway, so I had them trimmed to size and sanded.

Step 2: It is much easier to paint both sides of the doors when they are hung. It is also, a great idea to make sure that they fit well before painting.
Follow these simple tips and tricks for an easy, time-saving project.

Step 3: These doors were pretty dirty, so I gave the a good cleaning. My go-to cleaner is Sprayway Glass Cleaner.

Step 4: Tape off all door knobs and hinges. I used Press’n Seal to cover the glass. It was easy to use, as it has an adhesive on it that sticks well to the glass.
TIP: Do not leave the Press’n Seal on too long, as it may leave a residue.
Painting French doors is a quick and easy way to give your home a fresh look.

Step 5: The key to a nice and clean paint job is the do two or three light coats of paint, instead of try to get the job done with one thick coat. Doing several light coats of paint will lessen the drips, mess and cleanup.
Using a paint with the primer in it will help give good coverage.
TIP: While the paint is still wet, carefully pull off painters tape. If you wait until the paint is dry, you will need to use a box cutter to cuter around the edge of the tape before you pull it off.
