What Do I Need to How to Create a Beautiful and Rustic Fall Mantel?

Step-by-step guide to creating an elegant autumn atmosphere in your home with vintage finds and glass hurricanes from Peacock Ridge Farm! Get excited for Fall today.

I brought the beautiful Fall decor to the floor in front and to the sides of the mantel by adding a faux maple tree, a large lantern filled with candles, and of course, some pumpkins and eucalyptus.

You will need: Hurricanes, flameless candles, velvet ribbon, greenery or fall leaves, pumpkins, grapevine pumpkin, fern wreaths, striped ribbon, lamps, riser, pheasant feathers, vintage looking urns, large mirror, fall artwork, an architectural detail, a large lantern, brass candlesticks, faux maple tree and a basket for the tree.

How to Create a Beautiful and Rustic Fall Mantel

This is my cottage that I transformed from a bay in our barn.

I recently added new flooring and board and batten to the walls.

I love this area and the warm and inviting feeling to it.

It is the perfect place to decorate for Fall.

I added a large gold framed mirror to the mantle, then I added a vintage architectural detail.

Next, I added a beautiful vintage picture of a harvest.

By adding layers, it gives it the ‘styled over the years’ look, instead looking brand new.

Then, I added these gorgeous lamps to either end of the mantle.

If you have been around Peacock Ridge Farm for any amount of time, you know that I’m going to tie a wreath to just about anything.

I love how these lamps look now.

I used a concrete riser under one of the hurricanes to add depth and dimension to the mantlescape.

I tucked in some fall leaves around the candles for a bit more autumnal flair.

I added some vintage cast iron urns with pheasant feathers in them.

And tucked in some eucalyptus that I cut from my garden, around the pumpkins and hurricanes.

Of course, I also had to tuck in a few pumpkins.

I used a grapevine pumpkin and a few neutral pumpkins.

I wanted to create the feeling of fall without using the oranges, reds and yellows that are normally used-I wanted this space to feel neutral and relaxed.

Fall is a wonderful season, filled with warm shades of the changing leaves and cozy days spent by the fire.

It’s the perfect time to reflect on the simple joys of life and enjoy the beauty all around us!
