Looking for beautiful, yet rustic barn ideas? Wait until you see this new barn reveal.
Hey Friends!
Welcome! I am so glad that you are here. I always enjoy our time together. My sweet husband and I live on a ten acre farm in the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range. It is a lovely setting nestled in a small town along a river that flows down from the mountain. When we bought this farm, we dreamed of someday building a beautiful barn that looked like it has been there for a hundred years. Our dreams have come true, and the barn is ready for it’s big reveal. Today, I am showing you a How to Create a Beautiful Barn-Perfect for Elegant Weddings. Come on, I’ll show you.

My heart pitter pats every single time that I drive down the driveway. This barn just makes me so happy. One of my favorite things to do is to entertain family and friends. And this is the perfect place to do it. The cozy atmosphere provides a certain sentimentality and allows you to embrace the beauty of nature in a down-to-earth way. Weddings, Christmas Parties, Summer bbq’s, birthday parties-it’s a wonderful place for a celebration. It’s beautiful on the outside and unfinished on the inside. It strikes the perfect balance between simple and sophisticated.
Building a Barn

When we started thinking about building our barn, I, of course went straight to Pinterest to look for barn ideas. This one made me stop in my tracks. I love it. A classic barn is just not complete without a cupola and weathervane and big sliding crossbuck doors. But what really adds so much elegant country flair is the fresh white paint, the overhangs on both sides with the clipped corners that create an arch shape and the ambiance of a barn that has stood the test of time.

This is the pasture where the barn will go. Up until now, we used the pasture to grow hay or to ride our squads in. The barn will be a beautiful addition to our farm.

This was such an exciting day. Breaking ground means that we are on our way to getting our barn built.

Setting the Poles. Each new stage was so much fun to watch.

I found some of the most amazing antique finds for the barn. A vintage weathervane complete with gunshot holes in it. Vintage lighting for the loft, and a gorgeous vintage chandelier that shines through the large windows in the front of the barn. Two amazing old barn lights that were perfect for the birds beaks in the front and the back of the barn. Wondering what a birds beak has to do with a barn? A birds beak is the part of the roof that overhangs at the gable of the roof. But, my favorite vintage finds that I found for the barn is a pair of old horse sconces. They are spectacular. I couldn’t believe that I found a matching pair. They had a tag on them that said that they were from an old mansion outside of Chicago. You can see the post about these vintage finds here.

This past weekend, we hosted a wedding for for the son of my dear friend. We created this Charcuterie Table. It is 12′ long. See how I made the 12′ farmhouse table here. Oh my goodness! This makes my heart so happy. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out. None of the food items are fancy, just favorite snack foods of the bride and groom. You can make anything beautiful with a bit of fresh and faux greenery. This was such a hit with all of the guests. You can see the post here.
