How to Make Baked Pears
Hey Friends!
Welcome! I am so glad that you are here. I always enjoy our time together. I love this time of year so much-the crisp cool weather and hopes of snow, hot cocoa and a fire while watching a Christmas movie on the Hallmark Channel (I may be doing that very thing right this minute), sweaters and boots, creating wonderful moments and memories with my loved ones and most of all, I love every single seat at my dining room table to be filled with friends and family-enjoying laughter, conversation and great food. Today, I am sharing a great recipe with you. It is not only delicious, but it is quick and easy. I am sharing how to make baked pears with you. Come on, I’ll show you.

This festive recipe has just a few simple ingredients-pears, a lemon, butter (or non dairy alternative), honey, marsala wine, sugar and a dash of cinnamon. To add a bit of holiday cheer, I added a few sprigs of rosemary and some fresh cranberries.

This recipe is an elegant addition to your holiday dessert line up, but it would be great for Christmas breakfast alongside your holiday favorite recipes, or a New Years brunch or baby shower-I could go on and on. I love this quick and easy recipe. It is so versatile.

Step 1: Using a sharp knife, halve and zest the lemon. Whenever I am using a sharp knife, I use a non-skid cutting board. Get a lemon zester here.

Step 2: Cut off the bottom of each pear, so that it will sit flat in the pan. Using a pairing knife, cut out the core. Make sure to leave the stem on, it looks more elegant after it’s baked. Squeeze lemon juice over the bottom and inside of each pear.

Step 3: Butter a baking dish and set the pears in it. By the way, this baking dish is oh, so cute and it would make a great Christmas gift idea for the baker on your Christmas gift giving list.

Step 3: In a small sauce pan on medium heat, add butter, marsala wine, honey, cinnamon and lemon zest. Cook until the sauce starts to thicken. This smells so good.

Step 4: Pour sauce over pears. Then sprinkle some sugar over the pears. The sugar adds some sparkle. You know how much I love my sparkle.
Step 5: Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
Step 6: You can serve the pears with some delicious vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream.

Step 7: Enjoy! Your friends and family will love this recipe. It’s a perfect dessert and beautiful enough to serve for your holiday entertaining. I added some sprigs of rosemary and fresh cranberries to add a bit of festive flair.
